Why have hope? Life has many unexpected twists and turns and nothing is guaranteed. My life has taken many detours (just last week, my university choices changed last minute) so I'm no stranger to uncertainty and change. But why have hope? What for? Especially when things don't go the way we want.
Everything happens for a reason.
I think if you're as strong-headed and determined as I am, you plan everything meticulously. You work hard, seek experience and grow then pursue the best opportunities. I was valedictorian of my class and regardless of where the future takes me, I know I will be fine. My plans have changed in terms of university and accommodation which was shocking and frustrating also but things always work out the way they're supposed to. I'm going to be living at home this year with my family. I live a 40-minute commute from my university and have already met some other students and I'm very excited to commence. The future is always uncertain but trust whatever is for you will locate you as long as you've done yourself justice.
With life, there's hope.
Whether you're religious, spiritual or none of the above, each new dawn is a new chance. Another beginning. Another chance. Another day. Another opportunity to grow. To become stronger (mentally and physically). Kinder. Happier. Healthier. Fairer. Truer to yourself and to other people. Each day is another chance. If things don't go right today, sleep on it. And try again. All will be fine.
Life is unpredictable.
The best we can do is give our best efforts--whatever succeeds is beyond us. Sometimes, things go to plan. Other times, not so much. Regardless, how we react to circumstances and how we approach situations despite the outcome is what defines you as an individual. I think the biggest mistake you can ever make is stressing about whatever is out of your control. The future, other people's behaviors and opinions, what people think of you--that's beyond your jurisdiction. What you can control is your reaction to whatever comes your way, your boundaries, your self-talk and your attitude towards other people. The best you can do in a world like this one is be a kind and driven person.
Undoubtably, things in life will go wrong and be difficult to deal with but know that things always happen for a reason and believe that you deserve the best (as long as you continue to give your best) and all will be alright. Be thankful; you're blessed to be here.
